If you give a pig a pancake

As Beth was reading me her bedtime story last night, I thought Aunt Casey would like to see it. It's been almost a year since I read this story to Beth, so it's not a memorized thing. She continues to amaze me every day with what she can read. Oh, and she asked why "give" says "i" since it has "e" at the end. Umm, so much for that rule!

Amazing to hear her read. She's such a smart cookie! You should be a proud mama.

Great job, Beth!

My oldest daughter was never very happy about all the words that didn't follow the rules and my middle daughter is currently struggling with that idea as well. I believe I read somewhere that 47% of the words in our language don't follow the rules - but we should still teach/learn them because more than half do. And that ain't too shabby :)
